Serving Mount Shasta · Siskiyou County · Northern California
Volcanic landscapes, alpine lakes, ancient forests, and a sky unlike anywhere else on earth — there is no backdrop more extraordinary for a wedding day.
The Mountain Experience
Mount Shasta stands apart from anything else in California. The 14,179-foot stratovolcano looms over every frame, creating a sense of scale and drama that's simply impossible anywhere else. I've photographed couples at Castle Lake, McCloud Falls, Panther Meadows, and at the timberline — and every session feels profoundly unique.
The light here is unlike anywhere else in Northern California. The high elevation and clean air produce long, golden evenings where the mountain turns pink and lavender at sunset. If you're planning an elopement or intimate wedding, Mount Shasta might be the most dramatic setting in the state.

High on the flanks of Mount Shasta, this sacred sub-alpine meadow blooms with wildflowers in July and August. The views of the mountain from here are spectacular and often snow-capped even in summer.

The historic mill town of McCloud and the charming downtown of Mount Shasta city offer venue options ranging from rustic lodges to restored historic buildings — each with incredible mountain character.
The broader Siskiyou wilderness includes Trinity Alps access, Shasta National Forest meadows, and remote high-country locations for adventure elopements truly off the beaten path.
Mount Shasta is one of my favorite places on earth for intimate elopements. Two people, a mountain, and golden light. If you're dreaming of something small, wild, and deeply personal — let's talk. My elopement packages start at $1,000 and I handle permitting guidance, timeline planning, and location scouting.
What Couples Say
"We eloped at Castle Lake and Dennis made the entire thing feel effortless. He hiked up with us, found the most incredible light, and the photos look like they belong in a magazine. Absolutely no regrets choosing him."
"The mountain behind us in every photo is just surreal. Dennis knew exactly where to position us to get the full summit in frame while keeping the light perfect. The images are otherworldly."
"Dennis drove up from Redding without hesitation and treated our small elopement with the same care and artistry I'd expect for a 200-person wedding. Every photo is a masterpiece."
Planning Your Mountain Wedding
The Mount Shasta area is accessible year-round, but conditions vary dramatically by season. June through October offers the most reliable weather and the most accessible alpine locations. July and August bring wildflower blooms at elevation. September offers the best golden light and the fewest crowds.
Many high-altitude locations around Mount Shasta require USFS permits for ceremonies. I'll guide you through exactly what's needed for your chosen location and help you submit the right paperwork. Plan at least 3-4 months ahead for summer dates.
Mount Shasta is about an hour north of Redding — roughly 60 miles up I-5. For full-day weddings in the area, I charge a flat travel fee rather than per-mile — reach out for current pricing. For elopements with just 2-4 hours of coverage, the travel fee is often waived entirely.
Mountain weather changes rapidly. I always carry redundant gear, and we plan backup timing into your day. I've never missed a shot that mattered because of weather — and sometimes the storms make the best photos.
There's nothing else like it. If Mount Shasta is calling you, let's start planning your elopement or wedding together. Initial consultations are always free.
